Crete’s long and intriguing history, picturesque villages, rugged mountains, and stunning beaches make it an ideal destination for a holiday with friends, family, or a romantic getaway.Day 1: ArrivalOur flight arrives in Crete early in the day, and we head straight to our hotel. We have chosen a hotel with a seaside view, and we can’t wait to get settled and start exploring the town. After we have checked in, we take a stroll to the old harbour of Chania, lose ourselves in the maze-like streets while admiring the Venetian buildings and the animated life of this charming city. We have a hearty lunch of Greek cuisine in one of the local restaurants, and spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, enjoying the crystal-clear water and the stunning views.Day 2: Exploring Chania

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we take a walk back to the old town of Chania for a more extensive exploration. Our first stop is the Venetian Harbour, where we can see the old buildings, the picturesque lighthouse, and take pictures by the promenade. We also visit the Archaeological Museum, which is within walking distance of the harbour. The museum is home to several ancient artefacts and has an exceptional collection of Minoan ceramics. We finish the day with dinner at one of the traditional tavernas in the old town.Day 3: Discovering Samaria GorgeOn day three, we take an early start and visit Samaria Gorge. We leave Chania early in the morning, and after driving for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, we arrive at Omalos Plateau, where we start a 16 km hike down to the coast. The hike takes us through the narrow canyon, which offers some of the most stunning views in Crete. We cross the crystal-clear waters of the river a few times, and we encounter several rare plants and animals along the way.Day 4: Beach Day at ElafonissiAfter our adventure in Samaria, we take a day off and drive to the small island of Elafonissi.
